Dr. Elizabeth Woodworth, DVM

Owner Veterinarian

I am a proud graduate of Michigan State University! Since graduation, I have worked in both general practice and emergency medicine, and I am excited to bridge the gap between the two here at Animal Urgent Center. Outside of work, I love to relax with a good book, and I have a passion for travel. Every year I voyage to Maine to spend time at my cottage on Sebec Lake. I share my life with my significant other and our three dogs (Moxie, Frank, & Larry)!

Dr. Kate Gunasekaran, DVM, CVA, CCRT, CVMMP

Owner Veterinarian

I graduated from Michigan State University and gained experience through a rotating internship and six years as an emergency veterinarian. During this time, I developed a strong interest in integrative veterinary care and alternative therapies. I hold certifications in canine rehabilitation, veterinary acupuncture, and medical manipulation, with additional training in Tui-na and end-of-life care. Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. In addition to being a proud mother of five boys, I have three dogs (Larry, Mira, and Bobby) and two cats (Pikachu and Captain Barnacles). Traveling and learning Tamil and Hindi are personal goals of mine.

Anne Blochwitz, BS

Veterinary Nurse

Hey there, folks! I’m Anne Blochwitz, the super-experienced veterinary ninja at Animal Urgent Center. With over three decades of veterinary awesomeness under my belt in General Practice, Internal Medicine, and even Emergency Medicine, I’m basically a pet-saving expert!

But wait, there’s more! I’ve got a soft spot for Palliative Medicine, making sure our furry pals are comfy and happy till the very end. And guess what? I’m not just a pro at treating animals; I’m also a master of educating pet parents on how to give their fluffballs the best life ever.

Now, let’s get personal! I reside in Ypsilanti with my partner in crime, David, and our two little troublemakers. Oh, and we can’t forget my entourage of adorable critters: Junie, the fluffy Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Freddie, the charming Havanese, and my four feline mischief-makers: Kiva, Weasley, Norbert, and Van Gogh. Yep, it’s like a mini zoo at my place!

When I’m not busy being a superhero veterinary nurse, you’ll catch me unleashing my creative side with crafting shenanigans, snapping pictures like a paparazzi, diving into captivating books, or roughing it out in the wild on camping adventures.

So, there you have it, the life of Anne Blochwitz – part-time pet savior, full-time fun-haver!

Stephanie Tilter, LVT

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Hey there! I’m Stephanie Titler, and I’m proud to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician with a passion for all things furry! My journey started back in 2012 when I graduated from Baker College, ready to embark on my mission to help animals in need. For the past eleven years, I’ve been rocking it in the veterinary world, specializing in handling emergency situations with finesse. There’s nothing more rewarding than being there for our furry friends during their toughest times. On top of that, I’ve spent six years dedicating myself to rescue work and community outreach, making a positive impact on the lives of animals and their human companions. It’s a calling that fills my heart with joy!

One of the highlights of my career was being recognized as a finalist in the 2021 American Hero Veterinary Nurse competition. To be among the Top 5 in the entire country was an incredible honor, and it motivates me even more to be the best vet tech I can be.

When I’m not busy being a superhero at work, you can find me enjoying some well-deserved downtime with my favorite hobbies. Karaoke is my guilty pleasure, and I won’t shy away from belting out some tunes like a rockstar! Reading has always been a way for me to unwind and escape into different worlds, and my fascination with astronomy keeps me gazing at the stars in wonder. At home, I’m blessed with a fantastic fur family. There’s Baby, my adorable Pomeranian companion, and my four quirky and lovable cats – William, Herman, Wilson, and Claude. They bring so much joy and laughter into my life, and I couldn’t imagine my home without them.

Helping animals and being their voice is not just a profession for me; it’s my life’s calling. I’m here to make a difference, one paw at a time, and I couldn’t be happier doing what I love.
